FAQ

  • Are you a licensed and board certified therapist?

Yes. I am Board Certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors and I am fully licensed to practice as a Counselor in both California and Illinois. There are no licensure requirements for Coaching and Mediation and I can therefore offer those services to clients regardless of location.

  • Do you offer telehealth or video sessions?

Yep, in fact this is how I see most of my clients these days. All video sessions are secure and encrypted.

  • Can I see you in person?

Maybe! I am currently based in Chicago and maintain an office in Downtown Evanston and the West Loop where I occasionally meet clients in person. Due to public health concerns and convenience most of my work is now done over video session.

  • Can I use insurance?

Maybe. Insurance can be used for Psychotherapy but not for Coaching, Mediation or PACT sessions. Currently I am an In Network PPO provider for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Illinois. If you live in California I can give you information to submit to your insurance as Out of Network. Click here for more info on insurance.

  • What is your style as a therapist and coach?

I tend to work best with clients who are looking for a directive yet collaborative approach that includes research and science along with humor. This only works if we connect and you trust me enough to engage honestly in the process.

  • Are relationships really the most important thing in life?

Yes. But that doesn’t just mean our partners or spouses it means anyone we come in contact with. Our friends, neighbors, colleagues, everyone we know we are in relationship with and the health, safety, security and enjoyment of those relationships shape our lives. So why not do what you can to have the best relationships possible?
