PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy)

PACT, or the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy, is a unique approach to couples therapy that focuses on the biological and evolutionary underpinnings of human relationships. This approach views relationships as a product of our innate survival mechanisms and seeks to address the root causes of conflict in couples by exploring the ways in which partners interact with each other on a physiological level. PACT therapists aim to help couples develop a deep understanding of each other's emotional needs and to build more secure, authentic and fulfilling relationships.

PACT therapy emphasizes the importance of nonverbal communication and physical touch in building intimacy and connection between partners. By working with couples to improve their body language, tone of voice, and other nonverbal cues, PACT therapists aim to help couples develop a deeper level of intimacy and emotional connection. PACT is an evidence-based approach to couples therapy that has been shown to be effective in helping couples overcome a wide range of relationship problems, including communication difficulties, conflicts over intimacy and sex, and issues related to trust and emotional safety.
